Established to support the work of early‑career visual artists, the Liu Shiming Artist Grants provide financial support for the creation of new projects that explore the interplay between traditional, cultural, or historical influences and contemporary artistic practice. Artists from any country may apply, provided the application and supporting materials are submitted in English. Eligibility requires either a studio arts degree earned between 2016 and 2024, or a debut show at a gallery or juried exhibition between 2016 and 2026. The online application is open now and must be submitted by 31 August 2026. Successful applicants will be notified by email by 2 December 2026, and the grant will be disbursed in two installments: $3,000 by 15 January 2027 and the remaining $2,000 upon completion of the proposed project, for a total of $5,000. The grant aims to enable artists to develop and realize innovative projects that bridge past and present artistic dialogues.
