Programa de Residência Criativa de Hambidge
The Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences
Sobre Esta Oportunidade

The Hambidge Center runs one of the longest‑standing artist residency programmes in the American South, situated on 600 forested acres in the north Georgia mountains near Rabun Gap. The Spring Session 2027 residency runs from mid‑February through May 2027, with an application window from August 1 to September 15, 2026. Residents receive a private studio that doubles as living space (bathroom and kitchen), communal vegetarian dinners Tuesday‑Friday, and shared facilities including a pottery studio and a Steinway grand piano. The program is self‑directed; there are no workshops, critiques or required activities, allowing artists to focus on their practice. Residencies last two to eight weeks (one‑week stays are limited to arts & culture administrators and culinary applicants). Eligible disciplines include visual arts, ceramics, writing, music, dance, science, culinary arts, arts & culture administration and multidisciplinary work. Applicants must be emerging, mid‑career or established professionals; hobbyists are not eligible. International applicants are welcome. The application fee is $30 (waivers available on request) and the residency fee is $300 per week, with merit‑based Distinguished Fellowships covering two weeks plus a $700 stipend, and limited financial‑aid scholarships averaging $250 (max $500). Applications are submitted through the Hambidge Slideroom portal. Notification of results occurs 7‑8 weeks after the deadline.
