Located on the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea, the Beast Artist in Residence provides artists with a tranquil setting next to the art space Beast in Østermarie. The residency offers a fully furnished brick house with utilities, a private or shared bedroom, a kitchen, bathroom, washing machine, bike, and garden, as well as a shared studio desk and a digital workspace equipped with a scanner and Canon Pro‑1000 printer. Artists can stay alone, with family, a group (up to three people), or share the house with another selected artist. Two accommodation options are available for 2027: an entire house rental at 11,000 DKK per month (≈1,450 EUR) or a shared house at 6,000 DKK per month (≈800 EUR). The residency lasts 1‑3 months and is offered during the periods January–May and October–December. While there are no thematic requirements, the program has a particular focus on lens‑based art and photography and welcomes international applicants from all disciplines. Residents receive studio space, digital equipment, utilities, promotion, optional nature tours, and introductions to the local art community. Production costs and travel are the artist’s responsibility. Applications are free and must be submitted by 1 August 2026, with materials including an artist statement, project proposal, CV, portfolio, and preferred residency dates.
