Arts Council Malta is implementing a three‑year capacity‑building project, co‑funded by the European Social Fund Plus, with a €1 million allocation to strengthen lifelong learning for people working across Malta’s cultural and creative sectors. The initiative runs from April 2025 to December 2028 and is organised around two pillars: (1) Training Grants that support eligible public‑sector employees, independent cultural and creative professionals, and staff of private‑sector or non‑governmental cultural organisations to attend short courses, masterclasses, conferences, seminars, workshops or online programmes abroad or online, with funding of up to €2,000 per applicant; and (2) a specialised local training programme comprising 18 modules on Right to Culture, Sustainability and Creative Entrepreneurship, delivered at MQF Levels 3‑5. Participation in the local training is free of charge. Applications for the training grants remain open for each module according to its own deadline, and the programme is expected to run on a rolling basis throughout the project period. The grant aims to address skill gaps in digitalisation, sustainability and professional practice, helping freelancers, micro‑enterprise owners and cultural workers build more sustainable careers.

Funding of up to €2,000 per applicant for training abroad or online; free participation in local specialised training modules; access to a network of cultural partners and mentors.

Open to public‑sector employees, independent cultural and creative professionals, and employees of private‑sector or non‑governmental cultural organisations operating in Malta.
