The Auxiliary is a leading artist‑led sonic arts organization based in Stockton‑on‑Tees, North East England. It offers a 6‑week artist‑in‑residence programme for emerging and early‑career international artists working in sonic art, performance, and installation. Residents receive studio space, accommodation, a £1,360 stipend, up to £150 travel allowance, and a £350 production budget. The residency includes access to a sound lab, performance space, and full AV equipment, and culminates in an exhibition or performance and a talk or workshop. Participants also benefit from one‑on‑one critical sessions with leading artists or academics, networking opportunities with local arts organisations, and community engagement support. The programme is open to artists living in or from the Northeast of England and is currently accepting applications on a rolling basis.
