The Independent Photographer runs a monthly Street Photography competition that celebrates and rewards photographers who capture spontaneous moments in urban environments. The September 2026 edition is open to photographers of any age, nationality or experience level. Entrants can submit images in any style – street, travel, fine art, landscape, documentary, portrait, and more – for a chance to win a $3,000 cash award, an international exhibition of their work, a feature on the platform's Instagram account with over one million followers, and a free online portfolio. The competition showcases the winners and finalists on the website, highlighting diverse perspectives from around the world. Applications are accepted through the dedicated submission page until the deadline of 31 October 2026. No entry fee is required.
