この機会について
Sound Scene is an annual festival of interactive sound art, live performances, and small‑group workshops hosted by the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. The 2027 edition (June 5‑6, 2027) seeks proposals that interrogate urban sonic experiences under the theme “Sounds of the City.” All artists, regardless of experience or discipline, may apply; applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of the festival or submit in partnership with an adult. There are no geographic restrictions. Submissions are free and may include multiple proposals per artist. Selected artists receive an honorarium ranging from $500 to $1,500 (USD) and their work will be exhibited on‑site for the two‑day festival. Artists must be present for set‑up, tear‑down, and performance days. The festival provides exhibition space, on‑site technical and logistical support, and accessibility guidance, but does not cover travel or lodging costs.
