The SomoS Residency Program for Artists, Curators, and Researchers provides a supportive environment in Berlin for artistic production, critical exchange, professional development and networking. Residents receive a private live/work studio (size and price vary), access to a spacious communal area, a well‑equipped library, office facilities and an open‑plan kitchen. The program includes curatorial dialogue, research assistance, introductions to Berlin‑based institutions and technical advice. Participation in the SomoS program gives artists the chance to engage in studio visits, discussions, exhibitions, talks, workshops or other public presentations, though a solo exhibition is not guaranteed. Residency periods are arranged individually; a minimum stay of three months is recommended, but longer stays are possible. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and prospective residents are asked to propose dates and a project description. The monthly residency fee ranges from €1,250 to €1,550 and covers accommodation, workspace, program participation and curatorial support; applicants are encouraged to seek external funding. The residency is open to individual artists, curators, researchers, writers, designers and other cultural practitioners worldwide. Travel and visa arrangements are the responsibility of the resident. The location is central Berlin (Kreuzberg/Neukölln), well‑connected by public transport.
