この機会について

The PRELIFE Artist Collaboration Programme, part of the interdisciplinary PRELIFE consortium, offers three artist residencies of approximately twelve months each. Residents receive a lump‑sum budget of €30,000 (VAT included) covering artist fees, materials, travel, production costs and possible rent for infrastructure. The programme provides access to the PRELIFE research network, laboratory facilities, and collaborative opportunities with scientists across computational modelling, experimental labs, geological fieldwork and astronomical observation. Participants will receive project management and curatorial support to develop public‑facing outcomes such as installations, performances, publications or hybrid formats. Applicants must have an established artistic practice, be based in the Netherlands (or able to work there without relocation support), be able to invoice within the Netherlands, and possess advanced English communication skills. The call welcomes individual artists or collectives (one applicant may represent a group). Submissions consist of a concept note (max 500 words), a brief portfolio (max 2 A4 pages) and a draft budget, all in PDF format, submitted via an online form by 20 September 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be notified between 5–9 October 2026, with interviews on 26 or 28 October 2026 in Utrecht. The residency starts on 1 January 2027 and ends on 31 December 2027. The programme aims to foster speculative, critical, and process‑based artistic research that challenges and expands scientific perspectives on the origins of life.
