The First Nations Arts d/Deaf and/or Disabilities Project Fund, administered by Creative Australia, provides grant funding of AUD $5,000 to $10,000 to support projects and professional development opportunities for Australian First Nations artists and arts workers who are d/Deaf and/or have a disability. Applications close on 13 October 2026 (3 pm AEDT) and projects may commence from 1 February 2027, with a maximum project duration of two years. Eligible applicants include individual artists, groups, and organisations that identify as Australian First Nations, are d/Deaf and/or have a disability, are 18 years or older, and are based in Australia. Organisations must have at least 51 % First Nations representation on their board and demonstrate a history of working with First Nations d/Deaf or disabled artists. The grant can fund a wide range of activities such as creation of new work, skills development, research, presentations, conferences, and material costs. Access and inclusion services are provided, including the National Relay Service, Auslan interpreter support, and other accessibility measures. Applicants must register via the Australia Council’s Fluxx application system, submit a project proposal, budget, and supporting material, and may only submit one application per round. Successful projects will be assessed by a First Nations Industry Advisory Panel based on project quality, impact, and viability.
