Adisa Ancestry Artists Residency (AAAR) is a small, intimate residency founded in 2025 in Linstead, St. Catherine, Jamaica. The program invites writers, visual artists, mixed‑media creators and performance artists to work on a specific body of work in a supportive community setting. Each year two artists are selected, with one slot reserved for a writer. The residency offers flexible lengths—2 weeks, 1 month or 2 months—allowing participants to tailor the stay to their project needs. Applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis; they must submit materials at least 30 days before the desired start date and will be notified by email. A $20 USD non‑refundable application fee covers the review process. The residency provides private accommodation with a bedroom and bathroom, a dedicated workspace, a writer‑dedicated studio, shared living areas, kitchen, patio, garden, laundry facilities and free Wi‑Fi. Participants also receive free marketing of their work through AAAR’s website, social media channels and press releases. The program emphasizes community engagement, offering local host orientation, introductions to the community and public events where artists can present their work to local audiences. The residency’s schedule for 2027 includes several blocks from January to December, each offering 1‑ or 2‑month options.
