Waag is excited to announce an open call for creative interventions titled “Trust me, I’m an AI/rtist”. The call invites individual artists and collectives—including theatre makers, choreographers, dancers, game designers, designers, and creative technologists—to critically engage with seven experimental generative AI Enablers that are being co‑created with technologists across Europe. Participants will have access to the technologies, datasets, and interfaces while they are still under development, and are encouraged to question the assumptions, biases, and cultural impacts embedded in these systems. Selected artists will receive a commission fee of €20,000 (excluding VAT) covering artist fees, travel, accommodation, and production costs, and will work with the AI Enablers at partner sites in Greece, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Austria, and elsewhere. The project runs from January to September 2027, with final presentations in September 2027. Applications are submitted via Homerun using a provided template and must include a VAT number in Europe. The call closes on 30 September 2026 at 23:59 CEST.
