Hive Curates, in collaboration with Eastern City BID, is commissioning a series of gobo projection designs for five historic alleyways in Eastern City, London. Artists are asked to create digital designs that will be fabricated as slides for gobo projectors, illuminating locations such as St Peter's Alley, St Michael's Alley and Castle Court. The project aims to celebrate the area’s heritage, improve night‑time safety for women, and create an engaging public art trail. Submissions should include a proposal of approach and consider themes of heritage, safety, and community engagement, with a required community engagement session. The selected artist will receive an artist fee of £2,500 (plus VAT if applicable) and full production support, with installation scheduled for October/November 2026. The deadline for expressions of interest is 28 August 2026 (midday).
