The Henry Moore Institute, part of the Henry Moore Foundation in Leeds, runs a quarterly Grants & Fellowships programme that supports the development of sculpture through project funding, research, and fellowships. Four application rounds are open each year – Autumn (now open), Winter, Spring and Summer – with the current Autumn deadline on 1 September 2026 (23:00 GMT). Applications are submitted via the Flexi‑Grant portal and are free of charge.
Grant categories include New Projects and Commissions, Acquisitions and Collections, Conferences/Lectures/Publications, and Long‑Term Research, each offering up to £20,000 (or £5,000 for conferences/publications). Research and Travel grants for individual scholars are capped at £2,500 and cover travel, photography and archival costs. The Institute also offers Artist Research Fellowships, providing a month of studio access in Leeds together with accommodation, travel and subsistence.
Eligibility varies by category: non‑profit organisations (UK or international) may apply for project‑based grants, while individuals may only apply for research‑related grants. Independent artists are not eligible for project grants. Successful applicants receive financial support, mentorship, and the opportunity to exhibit or publish their work through the Institute’s extensive network. Detailed guidelines, FAQs and the application portal are available on the Institute’s website.
