Somerset House Trust, a leading cultural hub in central London, is seeking an experienced Exhibitions Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of exhibitions, commissions and installations within its diverse programme. The role involves managing loan and touring exhibitions, complex installations, and commissioning contemporary artists, while coordinating with curators, designers, contractors, and internal departments to deliver accessible, culturally relevant exhibitions for broad audiences.

Key responsibilities include project management from conception to de‑installation, budget oversight, negotiation of loan agreements, coordination of shipping and insurance, appointment of contractors, and collaboration with 2D/3D designers. The manager will also support related programming, marketing, and funding applications, and line‑manage exhibition assistants.

Candidates should have significant experience leading exhibition projects, touring programmes, and complex installations, strong project‑management and budget skills, and a proven ability to work with artists, curators, and designers. Knowledge of UK government indemnity requirements, CDM 2015 regulations, and copyright procedures is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills, a passion for contemporary visual arts, and the ability to travel occasionally.

This is a permanent, full‑time position based in London with a hybrid working arrangement (three days in office per week). The salary range is £38,000–£42,000 per year, with benefits including 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension contributions, health and wellbeing support, season‑ticket loan, cycle‑to‑work scheme, and various discounts.
