この機会について

Est‑Nord‑Est (ENE) offers a series of eight‑week artist‑and‑author residencies in Saint‑Jean‑Port‑Joli, Quebec, Canada, for the 2027‑2028 cycle. The program is open to professional visual artists—both established and emerging—from Québec, Canada, and abroad, with priority given to artists of African descent. Applicants may come from a wide range of disciplines, including visual arts, dance, music, poetry, science, and interdisciplinary practices. Each residency period hosts four artists and one author, providing a stipend of CAD 2,080, on‑site studio and lodging, access to specialized equipment (wood, metal, ceramics), a documentation centre, technical and logistical support, and a bicycle for local transport. Residents are expected to commit to the full eight‑week term, present their work at opening and closing public events, and may propose a community workshop for an additional honorarium. Applications are submitted online via a dedicated form and must include a CV, artist statement, and a portfolio of 10‑15 images. The deadline for the 2026 application cycle is 8 November 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The residency is part of a recurring program with four seasonal periods (spring, summer, fall, winter) each year.
