The Erdenesiin Khuree Mongolian Calligraphy and Art Center, located in the historic city of Kharkhorin, offers a multidisciplinary residency titled "Residence of the Steppes". The program invites emerging and established artists from all disciplines to immerse themselves in Mongolian calligraphy and culture for a period of one to three months between May and October. Residents receive a dedicated workspace inside a traditional Mongolian yurt, access to the center’s tools and materials, and opportunities for cultural immersion through interactions with local artists and community members. The residency includes visa support, assistance in applying for grants or subsidies, and culminates in an exhibition of the artists’ work at the center. A daily fee of $30 USD covers basic accommodation and studio space, while applicants are responsible for personal expenses. The program is open to international artists and does not impose age or nationality restrictions. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; interested artists should submit a completed application form, CV, portfolio, and a statement of intent outlining their proposed project and its connection to Mongolian calligraphy or culture.
