この機会について

COMP Studios is a residency program run by the Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RCoC) that offers artists free, temporary studio space and public engagement opportunities. The program provides a 300‑sq‑ft studio shared with one other artist, basic furniture, and access to RCoC’s Upstairs Gallery for open studio events on First Friday evenings and two Saturdays each season. Artists are expected to work actively during the seven‑week session, present a public open studio event, and bring their own materials and equipment. The residency is open to artists who have a specific project they wish to complete and exhibit, and who can commit to the full duration of the session. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with multiple sessions scheduled each year (e.g., Spring 2027, Summer 2027, Fall 2027, Winter 2028, Spring 2028). The program emphasizes community support, collaboration with RCoC’s long‑term studio artists, and public visibility for contemporary art in downtown Rochester.
