この機会について

Belger Crane Yard Studios, part of Belger Arts in Kansas City, Missouri, hosts two ceramic residency tracks: a Foundation Residency for emerging artists and a Visiting Artist Residency for mid‑career practitioners. The Foundation Residency accepts four to six residents per term (two potters, two sculptors) for a one‑year term (August 1 – July 31) with a possible renewal for a second year. Residents receive a semi‑private studio, a $1,000 materials stipend, a $500 firing stipend (discounted rates if the stipend is exhausted), mentorship in studio operations, a group exhibition at the end of the term, and opportunities to teach, give talks, and engage with the community. The Visiting Artist Residency runs 1–6 months between August 2026 and July 2027, offering studio space, discounted firings, and a chance to lead a workshop or artist talk. Applicants must have recently completed an academic ceramics/clay degree (undergraduate, post‑baccalaureate, or graduate) or possess equivalent experience. Both U.S. citizens and international artists are eligible. Application materials include a completed form, artist statement, letter of intent or personal statement, project proposal (for visiting), 15–20 digital images, and two letters of reference. Applications open January 1 and close March 1 (annual deadline). Residents are responsible for their own housing, though guidance is provided. The program emphasizes community involvement, studio maintenance shifts, and contribution of a small work to the Belger Crane Yard Studios collection.
