CAAA – アーティスト・イン・レジデンス・プログラム(ポルトガル、ギマランイス)
CAAA – Centro para os Assuntos da Arte e Arquitectura
この機会について
The Artistic Residence Programme (ARP) of the Centro para os Assuntos da Arte e Arquitectura (CAAA) in Guimarães, Portugal, invites emerging artists, architects and curators to develop cross‑disciplinary projects in a historic, UNESCO‑listed city. The residency lasts between one and three months and operates on a rolling‑applications basis, meaning candidates may apply at any time throughout the year. Two fully‑equipped living‑studios of 22 m² each are provided, each with a sleeping area, kitchenette, private bathroom, electricity, water, Wi‑Fi and weekly cleaning. Residents also gain free access to the institution’s extensive infrastructure: four galleries, a black‑box theatre, a rehearsal room (available for an additional €600 / month), a specialised research library, an audio‑visual production studio, a print‑making workshop, and the possibility to use Gallery #3 (70 m²) for one month at no extra cost, plus up to four black‑box presentations. No application fee is required; the only cost is the studio fee of €400 per month (or €600 per month for the rehearsal room). Applicants submit a single PDF (max 5 MB) in English or Portuguese containing a 1,000–1,500‑word statement, images, CV, portfolio and one recommendation letter. The residency is self‑funded – CAAA does not provide a stipend – but supports residents who bring external grants or personal funding. At the end of the stay, residents are expected to present a public outcome (exhibition, performance, lecture, etc.) using the centre’s facilities. The programme aims to foster dialogue between visual arts, architecture, design, film, literature and performance, positioning the artist within CAAA’s multidisciplinary ecosystem.
