The ARTSassist Grant Program, administered by ArtsMemphis, offers 13 awards of $5,000 each to professional artists residing in Shelby County, Tennessee. The program supports visual arts, dance, film (directors only), and music (in partnership with Music Export Memphis). Eligibility requires U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency, a minimum of three years of residency in Shelby County, age 21 or older, and a professional artist status of at least three years. Applicants must not have received an ARTSassist or Emmett Award in the past five years and cannot be full‑time students. The application opens on August 10, 2026, with a deadline of October 4, 2026. Selected recipients receive a Form 1099 for tax reporting and are expected to remain residents of Shelby County for at least six months post‑award. The grant provides financial support to enable artists to pursue projects, research, or professional development, fostering creative risk‑taking and career growth within the local arts community.
