The ACTivate Residency is a seven‑day, site‑responsive residency hosted by Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) in its historic Cyclorama. Open to Boston‑based visual, performing, and interdisciplinary artists who belong to historically under‑represented and under‑resourced groups—including BIPOC, immigrants, new Americans, LGBTQ, working‑class, and differently‑abled artists—this residency prioritizes equity, diversity, and accessibility. Lead artists must reside in Boston or surrounding neighborhoods and cannot be current undergraduate or graduate students. Selected artists receive a $3,000 stipend for resources and a $500 travel stipend, access to the Cyclorama for seven days, staff support up to eight hours per day, in‑house resources, and the opportunity to share a work‑in‑progress with a private audience. The residency encourages process over product, allowing artists to explore and develop a site‑responsive work over the week. Applications are accepted online through September 23, 2027, with two residency slots available for 2027.
