The 2026 Pacific States Biennial North American (PSBN) is a premier juried printmaking exhibition hosted by the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Art Department in conjunction with the UH Hilo Mookini Library. The exhibition runs from November 2, 2026 to January 14, 2027. The call is open to all artists 18 years or older residing anywhere on the North American continent, its islands, and outlying US territories — entries from Mexico and Canada are welcome. Original work in all printmaking media and digital/traditional hybrid prints are eligible; no photography or digital reproductions of original works will be accepted. Works must be completed within the last 2 years and must not exceed 30" x 40" in paper size. The exhibition is juried by Althea Murphy-Price, Professor of Art at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with an extensive exhibition and publication record across North America and internationally. First place receives an artist residency at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo covering travel, lodging, per diem, and an honorarium. Additional purchase awards will be selected from the exhibition. UH Hilo will mat and frame accepted works. All participating artists receive one color exhibition catalog at no cost. Entries are processed through the CaFÉ system of the Western States Art Federation. Artists may submit up to 5 digital images. Accepted work must be shipped (rolled in a tube or flat) to arrive by September 18, 2026. Artists are responsible for providing return shipping labels. Sales include a 20% commission.
