The Waterford City & County Council Arts Office has launched the Waterford Artist Group Mentoring Scheme 2026, a subsidised programme designed to support emerging visual artists working in painting and drawing. The scheme offers a structured 12‑week curriculum delivered through online group mentoring sessions and two in‑person meet‑ups hosted by the Artform School of Art in Waterford. Participants receive guidance from experienced mentors, a free Big Look account, and a reduced participation fee of €85 (subsidised from the full €515 price). Applicants must be residents of Waterford city and the County Council administrative area for at least two years, be over 18, and have an established painting or drawing practice. Early‑to‑mid‑career artists and art students who can demonstrate how the mentoring will advance their practice are welcome. The deadline for applications is 31 August 2026 at 23:59, with successful mentees announced thereafter. The programme requires a commitment of roughly 10 hours per week, including weekly 90‑minute live group sessions and on‑site assignments.
