The Austrian Association of Wom*n Artists (VBKÖ) invites artists, collectives, and collaborative practices to submit proposals for its annual program, running from March 2027 to February 2028. The call seeks projects that embody feminist, queer, anti‑racist, anti‑colonial, and anti‑authoritarian principles, encouraging communal care and collective rehearsals of alternative futures. Solo exhibitions or single‑artist projects are explicitly excluded; the focus is on group or collective work that can be activated through public programming such as screenings, performances, workshops, and lectures.

Selected proposals will receive a total budget of €4,000, covering both artist fees and production costs, including materials, labor, transport, and other project‑related expenses. The program provides shared studio space and kitchen, graphic design support for online promotion and press, up to ten hours of technical support, and technical equipment. Exhibitions will run on Fridays and Saturdays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with groups responsible for any additional opening hours.

Applications must include a two‑page program description (English or German), CVs for all participants, a financial plan, technical requirements, and three high‑resolution images. The deadline is September 10, 2026, 23:59. Selected projects will be announced in early October 2026.

The call is open to artists and collectives based in Vienna; participants outside Vienna must cover travel, accommodation, and shipping costs within their budget or secure external funding. VBKÖ offers invitation and support letters to aid in securing additional funding.
