The Conseil des arts de Montréal invites non‑profit organisations based on the Island of Montréal to host an Indigenous artist or cultural worker for a training residency in critical writing. The program aims to strengthen Indigenous perspectives in the arts, increase critical writing output, and foster two‑way artistic exchange. Selected hosts receive up to CAD 10,000, which must include a fee paid to the resident artist. The residency lasts between two and six months and includes mentorship, a publishing platform for the artist’s writings, and support from the Indigenous Arts Committee. Applications are submitted through the ORORA portal by 14 October 2026 (17 h). Eligibility requires the artist to be an Indigenous (First Nations or Métis) professional residing in Canada, while the host organisation must be a non‑profit or cooperative headquartered in Montreal with a board primarily composed of Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
