Stillhouse Press
Informazioni su Questa Opportunità
Stillhouse Press, an independent student‑ and alumni‑run nonprofit press based in Northern Virginia, is accepting submissions for its Speculative Fiction Open Call, Fall 2026. The window runs from August 15, 2026 to November 15, 2026, with the final deadline on November 16, 2026 at 6:00 AM UTC. Eligible works are book‑length speculative fiction manuscripts or short story collections between 60,000 and 90,000 words (exceptionally longer or shorter works may be considered with justification). Submissions must be made through Submittable and include a query letter, synopsis, and word count. The press seeks lyrical, genre‑defying works that surprise and engage human or non‑human experience. Applicants must not submit AI‑generated prose, previously published full‑length books, or manuscripts if they are currently or recently affiliated with George Mason University’s English or Creative Writing MFA/BFA programs. A $7 submission fee applies, with fee‑waiver options for those with financial need. Accepted manuscripts will be considered for publication, and authors will receive editorial guidance and a 20 % discount on previous speculative fiction titles. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, and agents are not accepted.
