Informazioni su Questa Opportunità

M+ Hong Kong invites applications for the 2026/27 Sigg Fellowship for Chinese Art Research. The fellowship provides a HKD 200,000 grant to cover travel, living, insurance and research expenses, and supports a three‑to‑six‑month attachment to the museum. Fellows will have full access to the M+ Collections, both onsite and online, as well as the museum’s library and archives, and will receive mentorship from curators and staff. Throughout the attachment, fellows are expected to give internal presentations, engage in discussions with museum personnel, and ultimately deliver a public lecture in Hong Kong. The research outcome must be presented as an essay of at least 7,500 Chinese characters or 5,000 English words for publication in M+ Magazine. The call welcomes individuals or research groups of any nationality, with no age limit, provided they hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant field or an undergraduate degree plus a minimum of three years of relevant professional or academic experience, and are proficient in Chinese or English. Applicants must be able to obtain a Hong Kong visa. Proposals should address visual arts topics related to the relationship between tradition and contemporary Chinese art practice since the 1980s, such as ink art, art‑historical concepts, art‑craft intersections, or under‑studied artists and practices. The deadline for applications is 30 November 2026, 11:59 p.m. Hong Kong time.
