Residenza "Rural Hackers"
Rural Hackers
Informazioni su Questa Opportunità
Rural Hackers Residency is a one‑month program based in the village of Ponte Caldelas in Galicia, Spain. The residency is hosted by Rural Hackers, an international organization that promotes innovation at the intersection of technology, art, and rural life. Participants live in Anceu Coliving, where they receive private accommodation, daily essentials, and access to a maker space equipped with 3D printers, vinyl cutters, and other fabrication tools. The program offers weekly mentorship sessions to help artists refine their projects and ensure they resonate with the local context. Residents are encouraged to engage with the community, drawing inspiration from the landscape, traditions, and people of the village. Each residency culminates in a public event—an exhibition, installation, workshop, screening, or intervention—showcasing the work created during the stay. The residency is open to artists of all nationalities and disciplines, with no age or career‑stage restrictions. Applicants can choose between a self‑funded option (€1,600 per month) or a fully funded invitation through partner programmes such as Culture Moves Europe. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with new calls announced regularly on the Rural Hackers website. The residency provides housing, mentoring, network support, maker space, daily essentials, and a public exhibition, making it an ideal setting for artists seeking to explore rural revitalisation through creative practice.
