Residenze artistiche Matadero Madrid 2027

The Centre for Artists in Residence (CRA) at Matadero Madrid invites individual visual artists and collectives to apply for its 2027 residency programmes. The call is divided into three modalities: (1) four six‑month residencies for artists based in the Community of Madrid; (2) four three‑month residencies for artists resident in Spain but outside the Community of Madrid; and (3) two three‑month residencies for artists based in the Community of Madrid. All residencies run between January and July 2027, with the application deadline on 11 September 2026 at 2 pm (GMT+2). Applicants receive a dedicated workspace, access to the centre’s auditorium, black‑box, editing facilities, kitchen and studio spaces, as well as mentorship and professional accompaniment. Public Open Days are held three times a year to showcase residents’ work. The programme is open to visual artists and collectives; no stipend is provided, but the centre offers production support and public visibility. The residency is not a paid position and does not include housing or travel support.
