The Ars Biologica ArtXScience Residency, part of the České Budějovice European Capital of Culture 2028 project and supported by Ars Electronica, offers two residency positions for artists, designers, creatives and artist collectives. Selected participants receive up to 24,000 EUR in total funding (including a 6,000 EUR artist fee, up to 15,000 EUR production budget and up to 3,000 EUR for travel and accommodation) and will work directly with local scientists from the Czech Academy of Sciences on climate‑emergence, sustainable agriculture, geo‑engineering, permaculture and water management. The residency runs from January 2027 to April 2028 with three on‑site stays (Feb/Mar 2027, optional Aug/Sep 2027, and Mar 2028 for the Ars Biologica Festival). Benefits include mentorship, project development support, international exhibition exposure, documentation, and possible participation in the Ars Electronica Festival. Applicants must have at least five years of professional practice, experience in interdisciplinary or Art‑Science projects, be 18 years or older, and be eligible to work and travel in the EU. Applications close on 28 September 2026 (midnight CET).

Restrizioni
Artists with prior experience in interdisciplinary collaborations, ArtXScience productions and community engagement. The applicant should have produced enough documented work to allow the assessment of their artistic portfolio. They must have more than 5 years of professional creative practice.
