Residenza artistica “Art Life Jamaica”

Art Life Jamaica is an artist‑run residency located in the coastal village of Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Since 2020 the program has welcomed a diverse range of artists—including visual artists, sculptors, dancers, musicians, writers, and performers—to work in a rural setting that blends natural surroundings with community engagement. The residency offers shared indoor and outdoor studios, a kitchen and bar, a dance/theatre/performance space, and an art space for painting, drawing, and sculpture. Residents stay in private rooms, apartments, or cabins and are provided with accommodation, though travel, insurance, food, and supplies are the responsibility of the artist.

Applications are accepted on an open‑call basis with no fixed deadline; the program is open to all disciplines and evaluates submissions on a case‑by‑case basis. A modest application fee of 20 USD is charged (waived for Estonian citizens). The residency fee ranges from 500 USD to 1,500 USD per month, depending on the length of stay. The program also hosts workshops, presentations, films, and exhibitions, and encourages artists to share their work with the local community.

The residency is 1–3 months long, can accommodate up to four artists at a time, and does not provide travel support. It is wheelchair‑inaccessible but allows companions. The program is conducted in English, with Estonian and Finnish also accepted, and is open to artists worldwide.
