La morte come cultura: residenze artistiche in presenza a New Orleans
Kolaj Institute
Informazioni su Questa Opportunità
Kolaj Institute invites artists to a one‑week collage residency in New Orleans, held in two sessions: 27–31 October 2026 or 1–5 November 2026. The program begins with two virtual Zoom meetings on 21 and 22 October. Participants will investigate how death is expressed across cultures through folklore, ritual, and art, engaging with local sites such as St. Roch Cemetery and, for the November cohort, Fet Gede celebrations. The residency offers 24‑hour studio access, a material library, collaborative collage-making, and a final presentation with curatorial feedback. Artists will also have their work considered for exhibitions in January 2027 and October 2027, and for publication in the Folklore Collage Society journal. The residency costs $750 USD per artist, with limited grants available to offset the fee. Travel, accommodation, and meals are the artist’s responsibility.
