The Chennai Photo Biennale (CPB) Foundation, a public arts initiative based in Chennai, India, is launching the third edition of its International Photography Open Call. Open globally to photographers and lens‑based artists of all ages, the call invites urgent visual stories across genres—nature, portraiture, landscape, still life, conceptual, experimental, and interdisciplinary work that may intersect with performance, painting, sculpture, sound, literature, or other media. Submissions are accepted as single images or photographic series, with no set theme, allowing artists to present work that reflects their own interests and inquiries.

The call opens on 19 August 2026 and closes on 31 October 2026. Selected works will be exhibited in Chennai during January–February 2027 across venues such as VR Chennai, Avatar Foundation for the Arts, and Chennai Corporation Public Parks, continuing CPB’s expansive, city‑wide approach to photography. The event is organized in partnership with SIGMA India and features a diverse jury of photographers, artists, curators, educators, and arts professionals.

Submission fees vary by region and submission type: for residents of other countries, the fee is €8 per single image or €15 per photo story; for South Asian residents, the fee ranges from INR 300 to INR 2100 depending on the number of images. The CPB Foundation accepts payments via PayPal, Razorpay, and other methods. No prize money is awarded; the primary reward is exhibition exposure and international visibility.

Eligibility is open to all photographers and lens‑based artists worldwide, with no age, nationality, or career‑stage restrictions. The call does not provide housing or travel support.
