The Delfina Foundation, in partnership with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (UK Branch), is calling for contemporary visual artists born in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea‑Bissau, Cape Verde or São Tomé and Príncipe to apply for a fully funded summer residency in London. The residency will run from 28 June to 17 September 2027 and will be part of the Foundation’s open summer season. Applicants will receive a return economy‑class flight, airport transfers, visa‑fee reimbursement, a £40 per‑day living allowance, a £1 200 materials budget, a London travel pass, and accommodation in a single‑bedroom studio at Delfina House. The programme includes guided visits to museums, galleries and artist‑run spaces, professional development activities such as portfolio reviews and mentoring, and opportunities for collaborative exchange with other residents. Eligibility requires that applicants be born in one of the specified countries, be contemporary visual artists, be able to articulate how the residency will benefit their practice, and be proficient in English. Individuals currently based in the UK are not eligible. The application deadline is Sunday 4 October 2026 23:59 BST; applications are submitted via an online form. Selected artists will be notified by mid‑November 2026.
