Informazioni su Questa Opportunità

MERZ, an artist‑run residency and gallery in Sanquhar, Scotland, offers a unique residency programme titled "MODELS as METAPHORS". The call invites artists to work with 1/24th scale models, exploring themes of conflict, social engagement and artistic change. The residency lasts between one and three months, with a minimum stay of one month, and culminates in an exhibition and promotion of the final work, with optional filming of work‑in‑progress. Accommodation is provided in the Bothy, Tadpole or No 5 cottages, each offering studio space and basic amenities. Fees range from £1,400 to £1,680 per 28 days, covering accommodation and studio use. Artists receive support from David Rushton's model‑making expertise and access to the museum's materials. The programme is open to all artists working with models or interested in conceptual model‑making, with no nationality or age restrictions. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; applicants should submit photographs of their model work, a brief statement of interest, and a proposal explaining why the residency is attractive.
