Leading with Purpose is a 6‑day intensive program offered by the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity that builds practical leadership capacity for arts and cultural sector professionals. The course complements the Banff Centre’s Wise Practices in Arts Leadership program and focuses on purpose‑driven, relationship‑centred leadership, strategic decision‑making, resource stewardship, and organizational effectiveness. Participants engage in real‑world case studies, experiential learning, peer learning, and practical application to develop executive leadership and organizational management skills. The program is open to administrators, managers, directors, producers, consultants, education specialists, artists (including Indigenous, Canadian, and international), and community‑based arts and heritage workers. Applicants must be 18+ and can apply from anywhere, though non‑Canadian participants must secure a visitor visa. The fee is $3,863 CAD (tuition, accommodation, and meal plan) with an application fee of $65 CAD (or $35 CAD for Indigenous applicants). Limited funding is available for up to 18 participants, prioritising those in small Canadian non‑profit arts organisations. The program includes a private hotel room on campus, a single bedroom, a meal plan, and access to Banff Centre facilities such as the library, archives, and fitness centre.
