The Ishibashi Foundation/The Japan Foundation Fellowship for Research on Japanese Art is a program designed to strengthen the professional development of specialists in Japanese visual arts. It invites curators, researchers, educators, and conservators from abroad to conduct intensive research in Japan, with a focus on contemporary Japanese art. Applicants must be overseas nationals or permanent residents of countries with diplomatic relations with Japan, be proficient in Japanese or English, and be able to stay continuously in Japan for the fellowship term. The fellowship lasts 21 to 59 days, with the start date falling between June 20 2027 and March 31 2028. Recipients receive a stipend, other allowances, and round‑trip airfare (discount economy class). The program encourages scholars to share their research outcomes widely through exhibitions or publications. Applications are accepted online by 1 p.m. on December 1 2026 (Japan Standard Time).

Restrizioni
