Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity
Informazioni su Questa Opportunità
The Indigenous Fashion Creation Residency: Embellishments and Accessories is a five‑week hybrid program offered by the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. It invites Indigenous fashion designers, artists and design companies to advance personal projects that explore avant‑garde garment and accessory design, including jewellery, belts, handbags, headpieces, necklaces and bracelets. The residency combines an online introductory week (April 5‑9, 2027) with four weeks of in‑person studio work on the Banff campus (April 12‑May 7, 2027). Participants receive a dedicated studio, access to Visual Arts facilities, meals, single‑room accommodation, faculty‑led workshops, one‑on‑one mentorship, and the opportunity to showcase work‑in‑progress at an Open Studios event. The program is open to Indigenous artists aged 18 + from Canada and abroad, including individual applicants and collaborative groups. Applicants must have a background in fashion or garment design, basic sewing knowledge, and be able to attend the full program. An application fee of $35 CAD is required, and a full scholarship covering tuition, accommodation and meals is available. The deadline for applications is 16 December 2026 (11:59 p.m. MST).
