The Hearth Gallery (Bowen Island Arts Council) is seeking proposals for its 2027 season, inviting Bowen Island artists, artists with ties to the island, and a limited number from the southwest corner of British Columbia. Submissions may be solo, group, or collaborative exhibitions and can encompass any medium, including 2D, 3D, literary, and beyond, provided the work is original and created by the artist. Applications must include a completed form, artist statement, CV, and 3‑5 images of recent work. The selection committee will schedule exhibitions, typically lasting three weeks, with shows beginning mid‑week and concluding on a Monday. The Hearth provides extensive support: promotion via its website and social media, weekly e‑newsletter features, professional poster design and printing, an artist party with appetizers, volunteer hosts, installation assistance, sales handling with a 65 %/35 % split, and timely commission payments. Artists must hold current membership with Hearth Arts on Bowen and may not submit work in cultural styles unrelated to their ancestry. Prior participants must wait three years before re‑applying. Selections will be announced by mid‑September 2026.
