The Maryland‑National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M‑NCPPC) Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County, is seeking professional visual artists and design teams to submit qualifications for two major exterior public art opportunities at the new Good Luck Community Center. The project is a complete, modern transformation of the site, featuring a single‑story, 25,000‑square‑foot community center and gymnasium. The public artworks will serve as neighborhood anchors within the main entrance threshold, visible to vehicular traffic and pedestrians. Artists may submit credentials for either or both opportunities: (1) an exterior public art piece (up to $200,000 all‑inclusive) and (2) an artistic seating element (up to $50,000 all‑inclusive). Semi‑finalists receive design development stipends of $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. Eligibility requires residency in the DMV region, a minimum age of 21, a verifiable professional studio space, and a proven record of durable, permanent public art installations. The selection process involves a three‑phase review culminating in a final presentation to a committee of cultural arts strategists, architects, and community stakeholders.
