Fungus Among Us (Mostra globale SAQA) - Bando di partecipazione

Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) announces the call for entry for its 2026‑2027 global exhibition "Fungus Among Us." Artists are invited to explore the theme of fungi—its forms, ecological roles, and cultural meanings—through art quilts. Submissions may include wall‑hung (2D or 3D) and freestanding works, with size limits of 96 inches in any dimension and a requirement that pieces fit through a standard 34‑inch doorway. All work must conform to SAQA’s definition of an art quilt and cannot contain actual fungi or unprocessed organic material. Applicants must be current SAQA members; the entry fee is $50 USD for up to three works (early‑bird discount $10 if submitted by 15 Oct 2026). The deadline for online entry is 31 Oct 2026 (7 pm EST). Accepted works will travel to the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, United Kingdom, opening in August 2027 and touring until December 2030. Artists receive exhibition exposure, inclusion in the exhibition catalog, and online promotion, but no monetary stipend. Shipping costs are the artist’s responsibility, though reimbursement forms are provided for non‑U.S. members. Detailed guidelines, image requirements, and submission forms are linked below.
