Black Box Gallery is pleased to announce a juried group photography exhibition titled "Framed: Shadow and Light". The show will explore how shadow and light are interpreted by contemporary photographers, encouraging a range of styles from dramatic black‑and‑white to moody color images. The exhibition will run from November 1 to November 25, 2026, in Portland, Oregon, and will feature 26 selected photographs in the gallery and an additional 50 in an online annex. All 76 images will be included in a catalog available for purchase.

Eligibility: The call is open to all photographers worldwide, both amateur and professional. Each entry may include up to five photographs. The juror, Todd Johnson, will select the works.

Application: Submit an entry fee of $40 (via PayPal) and then email the gallery at info.blackboxgallery@gmail.com with the subject line "Framed: Shadow and Light". Include your name, the call name, optional Instagram handle, titles of included photos with corresponding file names, and attach up to five JPEG files (1200 px on the longest side, 72 ppi, ≤5 MB each). The gallery will notify selected artists 7–10 days after the deadline.

Resources: Black Box Gallery will provide free printing, free matting, and free framing for all exhibited works. Prints will be made on Epson Stylus Pro archival ink‑jet printers using Epson Premium Luster Photo paper. The gallery will keep exhibition prints in a flat file for future sale and promotion, and will shred them after two years.

Fees: A $40 entry fee applies per submission (up to five photos). No additional fees are charged for printing or framing.
