The Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles (MOCA) is hiring a part‑time Educator (12‑20 hours per week) to support its year‑long Contemporary Art Start (CAS) partnership program for 3rd‑12th grade classrooms across Los Angeles County. The Educator will assist in developing and implementing discussion‑based tours using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), facilitate learner‑centered professional development trainings for teachers, co‑create curriculum and projects for students, families, and adults, and help design family programs that include guided tours and art‑making activities. The role also involves using a social‑justice lens to examine teaching practices, supporting large‑scale community events, and contributing to MOCA’s Teen program. Candidates should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in art education, studio art, art history, or a related field (preferred), experience in art education and anti‑oppressive teaching, and fluency in Spanish (preferred). The position offers an hourly wage of $23.56, a flexible part‑time schedule that aligns with the academic calendar, and opportunities for professional development and peer‑coaching. The role is covered by the MOCA/AFSCME collective bargaining agreement and adheres to MOCA’s equal employment policies.
