Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) presents the Emerging Artists Competition, an annual youth art competition and exhibition held at the Ross Gallery in Fayetteville, Texas. The competition is open to public, private, and homeschooled students across Texas in grades 6‑12 who have completed 5th grade. Each student may submit two original works in categories such as painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, three‑dimensional sculpture, jewelry, digital, fiber, etc. All submissions must be original, framed (or gallery‑wrapped for canvases), and ready to hang. Entries are automatically entered into the exhibition. Winners receive ribbons and share a total of $5,000 in cash prizes. The competition is underwritten by Candice Krueger and aims to inspire artistic development in rural communities.
