Contatto Camera Oscura Residenza

The Contact Darkroom residency is a resource-based program offering artists 12 hours a day access to fully equipped colour and black-and-white darkrooms, a dedicated workshop room, and an open gallery space. The residency is designed to support both emerging and established artists, providing the facilities, time, and environment needed for immersive, hands-on making. Based in the South Hams, Devon, the residency sits within a landscape of rolling hills, rivers, and dramatic coastline, offering a rich environment for reflection and experimentation with the natural world. Artists are encouraged to draw inspiration from the surrounding area, whether working on an existing project, testing out new ideas and processes, or developing work that responds directly to place. Optional programs, such as workshops, guided walks, excursions, and local gallery visits, can be arranged on request, further connecting residents with the local community and cultural landscape.
