Trillium Arts, located in the remote Blue Ridge Mountains of Mars Hill, North Carolina, invites artists of all disciplines to apply for its 2027 Individual Artist Residencies. The program offers a one‑week, seven‑night stay in a private, ground‑floor suite, complete with high‑speed internet, laundry facilities, and shared access to the property’s fire pit, hot tub, and waterfall area. Residents receive a $700 cash honorarium, basic kitchen supplies, and meals (at least two meals per week). The residency is designed for solo artists; collaborative or group residencies are not accepted. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, can be at any career stage, and may be based anywhere in the world. The application cycle opens on September 22, 2026, and closes on November 4, 2026 at 11:59 pm. The selection panel will review CVs, project descriptions, artist statements, letters of recommendation, and a work sample. Successful applicants will be notified by mid‑December and can schedule their residency in either April or October 2027, with dates flexible within those months. Optional mentorship is available for an additional fee. Trillium Arts emphasizes ecological and nature‑based projects, giving mild priority to such work. The residency provides a secluded, creative environment for artists to focus on their practice while engaging with the community through public programming, talks, and workshops.
