Residenze del Kultur Ensemble Palermo 2027
Kultur Ensemble Palermo
Informazioni su Questa Opportunità
Two three‑month Franco‑German artist residencies are offered by Kultur Ensemble Palermo for the 2027 edition, running from 11 January to 4 April and from 20 September to 12 December. The program is open to Franco‑German duos (German or French nationality, or working in Germany or France) under 36 years old, who propose a project that engages with Palermo, Sicily or the wider Mediterranean region. Applicants must submit a single PDF containing a CV (max 2 pages per person), a one‑page project description justifying the need for a studio, and a portfolio (max 10 pages). Applications are sent in duplicate, one in French or German and one in English, to kulturensemblepalermo@gmail.com by midnight 6 September 2026. The selection jury, composed of Italian, French and German experts, will decide by the end of September 2026.
The residency offers a dedicated studio space – the 115 m² Bottega at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa – shared with other residents, a monthly stipend of €1,500 per person, a travel allowance of up to €500 per person for return journeys, and a budget of up to €500 for research, creation and production costs (subject to prior approval). Accommodation in Palermo is provided in private rooms with shared common spaces. Residents are expected to participate in at least two educational activities (e.g., presentations, workshops with local schools) and to contribute to the institutes’ social media and a short video interview. The Franco‑German Youth Office partners in the call and funds residencies for people under 36.
