Initiative Martin Roth : Réinstallation temporaire en Allemagne pour les artistes et les acteurs culturels en danger 2027
Martin Roth Initiative
À Propos de Cette Opportunité
The Martin Roth Initiative (MRI) supports artists and cultural actors who are at risk due to their work or circumstances by offering a temporary relocation programme in Germany. The programme provides a monthly scholarship and a range of individual support measures, including necessary insurance, psychosocial support, language courses, trainings, networking activities, and counselling. Additional financial resources are available for host organisations to cover personnel costs related to the project. MRI also assists with the visa process for scholarship holders, although the scholarship visa does not automatically grant the right to work in Germany.
Eligibility is limited to artists and cultural actors who are actively working in their country of origin or have recently left, who speak English or German, and who are not citizens of EU/EEA member states, Australia, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States, nor have previously received MRI funding. Applicants from Gaza are currently excluded due to travel restrictions. The scholarship lasts up to 15 months, with the funding period able to start from 15 January 2027. Applications are submitted jointly by the artist/cultural actor and a German host organisation via the MRI platform. The deadline for digital submission of both the artist and host applications is 11 September 2026 (5:00 pm CEST), with a hard‑copy deadline of 25 September 2026 for the host’s signed application. Decisions are announced by the end of November 2026. The programme is part of an annual call, making it a recurring opportunity.
