SAIKONEON Artist‑in‑Residence 2026 is a year‑round residency program located on the serene shores of Lake Saiko in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.\nThe program welcomes individuals or groups from visual art, design, literature, performance, music, and manga/cartoon disciplines.\nApplications are accepted in Japanese or English and must be submitted via email to [email protected], including a CV, portfolio and a residency project proposal.\nThe residency lasts 30 to 90 days, with a maximum of three terms per artist or group.\nArtists are responsible for covering all costs, including travel, living expenses and insurance; the program does not provide any financial aid.\nThe residency offers accommodation in private studios, shared spaces, free Wi‑Fi, water, utilities, and a free rental bicycle.\nTransportation support is available within approximately one hour of driving distance, with pick‑up and drop‑off from Kawaguchiko Station, though highway tolls and fuel costs beyond this distance are the artist’s responsibility.\nThe program does not provide exhibition space.\nSelection is based on originality, curiosity and the strength of the proposed project.
